Ambitious for Aberdeenshire Learn more
Michael Turvey is the Liberal Democrat candidate for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine for the UK Parliament in Westminster. He lives with his wife and three children in a farmhouse on the Slug Road between Stonehaven and Banchory. Michael and his family previously lived near Drumlithie in the Mearns.
Michael is passionate about West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine and everyone who lives there: “we have family and friends from across the UK and around the world and we are always so proud to show them around the area. From the heights of the Cairngorms, through stunning forests and farmland to the harbours, beaches and cliffs of the North Sea coastline this area has such diverse landscape and such friendly welcoming people.”
Michael has worked for 16 years for an energy company in a variety of commercial and technical roles. “I have worked on refineries, chemical plants, shipyards and offices – the majority in the North East oil and gas sector.” Outside work he enjoys walks in the countryside with his family picking mushrooms and berries, gardening, woodwork, cooking, baking and language learning.
Michael’s priorities for Westminster are:
“People are tired of this amateurish Conservative government, tired of career politicians without real world experience and are crying out for change. The Liberal Democrats have won this seat more times that any other party and are fighting hard for the people of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine. Meanwhile the SNP and Labour are both focused on their battle for the central belt.
